FAQ

Why did you call your blog 'effiesmakeupbox'?
This is always the most awkward question to answer as it's so stupid. It was basically a spelling mistake. I decided to set up a YouTube account after I finished make-up school so that I could upload a few videos etc. I was struggling to think of a YT name & ended up settling with 'heffiesmakeupbox' as I quite often got called heffie at school haha but I mistyped & wrote 'effie' instead of 'heffie'. You get the picture, I'm the worlds biggest 'typeoer' (if that is even a word aha) I didn't think much of it at the time as I didn't really expect much from my YouTube channel, but I stuck with it & ended up using it as my blog name too.

What is your name?

Heather. People do call me Effie now & again though because of my blog name, especially people from YouTube, which is fine, I don't mind at all, but my actual name is Heather.

How tall are you?

I am 5ft6. Size 6/8.

How old are you?
I'm 24. My birthday is 28th February.

What camera do you use?
Canon 1100D
Olympus SP800UZ

Who takes your outfit pictures?
When I first started blogging, I did the whole 'balance my camera on whatever I could find & use the self timer' trick. As I got more & more into blogging & doing outfit posts, I caved & bought a cheap tripod off amazon, BEST THING I EVER DID! If you are pondering whether or not to buy one yourself, I'd say 'just do it!' It will help you out loads! :)

For the the last month or so Liam has been taking all my outfit photos as most, if not all, of my outfits have been  shot outside/on location rather than in the flat. :)

What colour do you use to dye your hair?
Loreal Ferria 'Paprika' Loreal Feria 'Mango' & La Richie Directions Mandarin & Apricot. I actually have a video on my YouTube channel explaining how I do it.

Are you really a make-up artist?

Yes. I trained in fashion & photographic make-up at Aqua Rosa make up school in Manchester.

Where do you get your DIY ideas from?

I don't know really. I usually just start by cutting up my clothes & then see what happens ahha. DIY'ing is such a great way to spruce up old clothes & make them more 'on trend' without spending too much money. It's amazing what a few studs, glitter, fabric dye & a pair of scissors can do!

Where do you buy your studs from?
Various sellers on ebay.
